Frequently Asked Questions

How does the Online Beat Maker work?

All 15 drum instruments are synthesized in real time using the Web Audio API -- no audio samples are loaded. Each sound is built from oscillators, noise buffers, and filters (e.g., the kick uses a sine oscillator with a pitch envelope, the snare layers noise with a resonant tone). A lookahead scheduler triggers sounds by reading the step-sequencer grid array every 25ms and queuing audio events ahead of the current playback time.
